Many Leeds fans react on Twitter as West Brom and Fulham drop points in promotion race

Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter after a couple of results went in their favour on Saturday as West Brom and Fulham dropped points.

Fourth-placed Brentford may have won 2-0 at Craven Cottage but they stopped Fulham from gaining any ground on the top-two.

That gave Leeds the chance to go a huge 10 points clear of third if they beat Cardiff in South Wales on Sunday afternoon.

West Brom moved top of the Championship table but did so with a goalless draw against Birmingham City at The Hawthorns in what was a very poor West Midlands derby game.

But as Leeds have a game in hand they can open up a three-point advantage if all goes well and supporters are happy with the events that transpired on Saturday as the Championship season finally got back underway.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

As you can see, some fans are excited by what happened on Saturday while others have been made more nervous by the pressure that has piled up on Leeds.

We doubt that Marcelo Bielsa’s men will be fazed by this though because the goal against Cardiff is exactly the same as it was before – win.

If Fulham and West Brom had both won on Saturday then there’d have been more pressure on Leeds.

If anything, those two sides dropping points relieves some of the pressure from the Whites.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has said who is likely to replace Pablo Hernandez against Cardiff – and it’s not Tyler Roberts.
