Manuel Neuer responds to Marc Roca signing Leeds United deal

Bayern Munich stalwart Manuel Neuer has responded to former teammate Marc Roca after Leeds United confirmed his signing on Friday.

The Spanish midfielder, 25, was brought to the Whites in a deal understood by BBC Sport to be worth £10million.

He made the decision to leave the Bavarians just two years into his five-year contract having only made 24 appearances.

A host of stars took responded to Roca’s farewell post to the Bundesliga side on Instagram, including Bayern Munich star, Neuer.

He wrote: “All the best!”

What a signing this is. It is amazing just how quickly things can turn around in football.

Not long ago Jesse Marsch’s side was in the midst of a relegation battle they really didn’t look like winning.

Fast forward several weeks and they have just made their third signing of the summer transfer window having already brought in Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.

Victor Orta is clearly doing his best to redeem himself after his recent failures in the transfer market.

Last season was strange beyond belief but ultimately it was his shortcomings in terms of strengthening the squad that left the Whites in the mess they were in in 2021/22.

Things are a lot different now and the chief is showing great intent ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Not only is it important to back Marsch and see what the American can do with his own devices but they must prepare for the worst.

With clubs circling around their star men, the Elland Road outfit could have been in a real mess had they left and no additions had been made to the squad.

At least now if they go, the blow will be softened by several new faces but more will need to be on the way in that case.
