Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne comparison made as Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell eyes return – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...
Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell may still wear a face mask as protective equipment once he returns to senior football, believes Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert asserts that this may be only the case if it’s a severe case as the 20-year-old looks to have made a quick recovery.
It’s understood that the centre-back has returned to training for the England under-21s after his 2022/23 season ended abruptly due to surgery on his damaged eye socket.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Cresswell,
It really depends on the extent and severity of the injury. I’ve seen players come back in nearly 2 weeks after eye socket injuries that didn’t require surgery (Kevin De Bruyne came back in 19 days for example following the injury he suffered in the Champions League final vs Chelsea) but significantly longer in more severe cases.
“If the area is still deemed to need protection, he will wear a mask.“
The English defender spent the entirety of last season at Millwall where he became a key first-team player for the London outfit.

The Whites loaned him out to gain first-team experience, and he achieved exactly that but failed to complete the season there.
Now, he is subject to transfer interest from Rangers who have tabled an offer for him and the Whites have already responded.
It remains to be seen if, after relegation, Leeds can find a way to give the 20-year-old regular game time at Elland Road next season.
In other Leeds United news, a BBC pundit has been left stunned as Phil Hay has dropped a fresh update on who the Whites are considering bringing in as manager this summer.
