Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola crazy over Willy Gnonto as Leeds United exit on cards

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly “crazy” over Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto who could be on his way out of Elland Road.

According to Tutto Mercato Web [29 May], the Italy international could leave Leeds after their relegation but his staying in the Championship is also not too far-fetched.

Juventus are also understood to be circling around the 19-year-old after his debut season in the Premier League for the Whites.

Tough battle

Leeds are going to face a battle in order to retain the services of Gnonto as there are big clubs looking to sign him in the coming weeks.

Guardiola is arguably the best manager in the world and the chance to work with him does not come too often in the careers of players.

If he personally decides to touch base with the player, there’s a very good chance that the 19-year-old is convinced and that could lead to him leaving the club.

Leeds United

Currently, nothing is fixed at the club as they may have a new owner, manager and sporting director for next season so there’s no clarity, as things stand.

It remains to be seen what the next few weeks hold for the Whites because they’re going to have to deal with the possibility of players leaving.

The Championship is not a league players want to play in, especially if they’re regular picks for their national team and have been accustomed to playing top-flight football.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
