Rob Page waxes lyrical of Dan James post Leeds United switch
Wales interim head coach Rob Page has waxed lyrical of Dan James after his move from Manchester United to Leeds United on deadline day.
The 23-year-old has been a Leeds target for the last few years and the Whites finally got their man this summer.
His national team manager has been impressed by his performances and believes that he would relish playing for the Whites.
Via the Yorkshire Evening Post, he said, “Everybody’s seen the ability DJ’s got. We’ve seen snippets of it at international level. He’s been first class for us.
“He’s obviously going to be really excited about that prospect [moving to Leeds]. It’s a four-year contract, so he can get his head down now and really enjoy his football.”
Excited to see him in action
James did not look likely to move anywhere at the start of the window, let alone to Leeds United.
It seemed like interest in the 23-year-old was a casual one and the Whites had other targets in mind.
While that could have been the case, Leeds amplified their pursuit of the Welshman after Manchester United landed Cristiano Ronaldo.
Once that happened, James was the one made surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and within a few days, he was announced as a Leeds United player.
His direct running and ability to take people on and beat them for pace are few of the things we enjoy watching James do.
Hopefully, this is a signing that works out for Leeds as he’s young and could help reach his true potential under Bielsa.
