Manchester United weigh up late bid for Leeds United target Calvin Ramsay
Manchester United and Leicester City are reportedly weighing up a late bid for Leeds United target and Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail, the Whites are expected to firm up talks and offer an offer in the region of £5million for the 18-year-old.
Should they want to sign him before the window shuts they may have to fend off interest from their arch rivals who are also keen on securing his services.
If Man United step up their interest and submit an offer, there’s a very good chance he leaves for Old Trafford.
They’re owned by billionaires and can offer the player at least twice of what Leeds can in terms of base wages.
Barring that, their global reach and fan following could be enough to tempt Ramsay to join them and that would be a bitter pill to swallow.
If Leeds have decided that Ramsay is their man then by all means they must do everything they can to try and get this deal over the line.
With Cody Drameh sent on loan, they do need an out-and-out right-back to replace Luke Ayling in case he gets injured.
Stuart Dallas and Jamie Shackleton are certainly options but they both prefer playing in midfield.
Victor Orta seriously needs to get this one over the line as Leeds are in the midst of an ugly relegation battle if things don’t improve.
