‘Major result’ – Reliable journalist details findings in latest round of COVID-19 tests
The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that only two positive COVID-19 findings were recorded in the latest round of EFL testing.
It comes only days after the findings were in double figures, with Leeds United even having one positive test revealed.
The EFL have confirmed that the Championship will return on the 20th of June, and this is a major step towards that date.
Nixon confirmed that both positive tests were from Championship clubs, but that it is still a great result moving forward.
“Only two EFL positive cases,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
“Two clubs. Major result.”
The Premier League have already had zero positive tests recorded, and the EFL are closing in on a similar number.
It still hasn’t been confirmed by Leeds which of their squad or staff member was behind the positive test, but they will have been isolating ever since to prevent the spread.
Nixon confirmed that the two positive results were from separate clubs, so if it has spread at Elland Road, it is only one more find – not the best, but definitely not the worst of results.
Other clubs in the EFL have been confirming when one of their players has tested positive, and with nothing coming out of Leeds, we could assume that it is a staff member rather than a player.
Either way, this is brilliant news and a real boost for the season restarting in less than two weeks time.
