Luton v Leeds United result predicted by supercomputer

Leeds United are back on the road this weekend, with an away trip to relegation-threatened Luton Town.

Leeds stumbled yet again in their promotion race, with a 2-2 draw at home to Swansea, meaning the Whites have now won just one of their last five.

Their current form, matched with their horrendous April record in the Championship, has seen concerns emerge at Elland Road ahead of the final run-in.

With seven games to go, Daniel Farke’s side need to return to winning ways, and their away encounter with Luton serves as the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Leeds need to get back to winning ways

Promotion remains on the cards for Leeds, but the longer this poor run of form goes, the weaker those chances become, and with just seven games remaining, time is running out.

The Whites have won just 26 per cent of their fixtures in April since 2013, potentially showcasing a weakness in mentality when it comes to the business end of the season, though the latest Opta superoputer predictions have forecast that to end this weekend.

Leeds are second in the Championship heading into the final seven games.

Leeds have a 59.6 per cent chance of taking all three points against Luton, while the hosts have bee awarded just a 19.6 per cent chance of a win.

A failure to win could see the Whites drop out of the top two places in the Championship, taking the race for promotion out of their hands for the first time this year.

Championship success is a must for Leeds

After the disappointment of last season, Leeds cannot afford to waste another golden opportunity to seal promotion back to the Premier League.

After the win at Sheffield United, it seemed almost nailed on that Leeds would be getting promoted, though a severe drop in form has since cast a shadow of doubt over that situation.

A failure to win against Luton would see that shadow spread even further, with the Whites then left hoping the teams above them slip up.
