Luton v Leeds United Preview – Team news, lineups, prediction, where to watch

Leeds United will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday as Daniel Farke takes his side to face Luton Town.

A disappointing 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Saturday (29 March), while Sheffield United won, leaves Leeds sitting second in the Championship table, two points behind the Blades.

The Whites are level on points with Burnley meaning the race for automatic promotion is set to be tight, with 23rd-placed Luton next up at Kennilworth Road.

Preview

Leeds have had a good season under the management of Farke so far but a recent dip in form has caused the West Yorkshire outfit to let go of their lead at the top of the Championship table.

The Whites have not won in their last two games, which has seen them drop to second in the table while their Yorkshire rivals have taken the lead.

However, the race for promotion in the second tier is seldom an easy ride and therefore, the German boss will be eager to see his side push towards regaining the top spot.

It is tight at the top of the Championship.

Luton, on the other hand, are not enjoying life back in the Championship and they currently sit 23rd in the table, but are still just three points away from survival.

The Hatters come into the game unbeaten in three meaning Leeds will have to be at their best standards if they are to get back on track.

Team News

As Farke looks to get back on track, he has no fresh injury worries at Elland Road.

The boss has confirmed that Karl Darlow will be starting in goal after Ilian Meslier found himself at fault twice more against Swansea.

Patrick Bamford and Max Wober are back in training but this game may be too soon for them. Willy Gnonto is ready to start too, and Farke may well be keen to put him in the side from the start.

Luton are not in the best position coming into the game, on the other hand, with Jacob Brown a long-term absentee while Teden Mengi recovers from a knee injury.

Shandon Baptiste and Marvelous Nakamba are sidelined too, with Isaiah Jones a doubt after he suffered an injury while on international duty with Guyana.

Predicted line-ups

Luton Town: Kaminski, Makosso, McGuinness, Bell, Chong, Walsh, Clark, Aasgaard, Doughty, Morris, Adebayo.

Leeds United: Darlow, Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo, Tanaka, Ampadu, James, Gnonto, Solomon, Piroe.

Supercomputer Prediction

Leeds supporters can be glad to see that the Opta Supercomputer has backed them to get back to winning ways against Luton.

The Whites have been backed with a 59.6 per cent chance of winning the game.

If Farke’s men don’t come out on top, they are unlikely to come away with nothing as a draw is predicted to have a 20.8 per cent chance.

Luton have just a 19.6 per cent chance of victory, but Leeds cannot rely on being favourites.
