Luke Littler shares what he told Luke Humphries in Leeds dig after promotion

Leeds United are now preparing for the new Premier League season after being crowned as champions of the Championship.

The Peacocks won the Championship title yesterday thanks to a late winner over Plymouth Argyle.

It also meant that Leeds joined an exclusive club as they also reached 100 points, a feat rarely seen in the second tier.

Now the task becomes Premier League survival, as the club looks to end the trend of promotion teams being immediately relegated from the top-flight.

However, darts player Luke Littler does not think Leeds will be much of a challenge next season.

Littler dups Leeds an ‘easy six points’ for Man United

One of the highlights of Leeds’ promotion is the return of their rivalry with Manchester United.

Daniel Farke’s side have not got the better of the Red Devils since their famous win in the FA Cup back in 2010, but given their recent slide down the table, an opportunity could arise in the upcoming season.

Littler, who is a Man United fan, has recently talked about Leeds’ promotion back to the top-flight and discussed what he told fellow darts player Luke Humpries, who is a supporter of the Peacocks.

He told Manchester Evening News (4 May): “He’s been chuffed to bits with them coming back up.I just said to him ‘you’re going back down next year mate, enjoy it while you can’. We just love playing each other, the pace and quality of it.

When asked about Man United’s chances against Leeds he simply said: “Easy six points.”

Leeds could easily do the double over Man United next season

While Premier League survival will no doubt be tough, there is nothing to suggest that Farke’s side will struggle against Man United.

The Red Devils have been dreadful this year, and if they do not win the Europa League, it will be their worst campaign in many people’s lifetimes.

When looking at the table for winnable fixtures, Farke will almost certainly see Man United as a possible three points, and there is a real chance that Leeds could do the double over them.

There is also every chance that Leeds could finish higher than their rivals if they further improve upon their squad in the summer.

While there is no doubt a long way to go until both sides play each other again, there is nothing to suggest that Man United will beat Leeds with ease next season.
