Luke Humphries pleads with 49ers after Leeds United promotion

Leeds United have now achieved promotion to the Premier League, and former darts world champion Luke Humphries is delighted.

Daniel Farke has led Leeds up from the Championship at the second time of asking, but the club will face an uphill battle in the top flight.

Leeds will now be competing in the Premier League knowing that the last six promoted sides from the Championship all went down immediately.

Darts superstar and Leeds fan Humphries has now called upon the club and owners 49ers Enterprises to do one thing to give them a better chance of survival.

Humphries calls for Leeds transfers following promotion

Leeds could now part ways with Farke following their promotion as they aim to survive in the Premier League, but Humphries has called for the club to do more than that.

Speaking on Sky Sports News (April 24, 3:30pm), Humphries called on the 49ers to make the required signings to make the squad competitive in the top flight.

Leeds can go up as Champions

“It’s amazing. I was really pleased we topped off a great season on Monday,” he stated.

“It’s deserved for us and for Burnley as well. The Premier League will be tough, but I believe we can stay up if we recruit some decent players.”

Leeds face Premier League struggle

Leeds have some difficult decisions on their hands as they prepare for life in the Premier League, and they will certainly be hoping for an improvement from their last top division outing.

Although Marcelo Bielsa had Leeds punching above their weight, the final season in 2022-23 was a disaster as Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce could not save the Whites from a dismal relegation.

Whether Leeds stick or twist with Farke, they will need to invest in the playing squad to have any chance of staying up, and they will need to get their transfer strategy spot on if they are to do what no promoted side has managed in two years.

A goalkeeper will be the priority with Illan Meslier set to leave, and this will lay the foundation for Leeds to build a side equipped to compete among some of Europe’s best teams.
