Luke Ayling spotted in Leeds United training ahead of Aston Villa clash wearing protective equipment
Luke Ayling has been spotted in Leeds United training ahead of the Aston Villa Premier League clash wearing protective equipment on his face.
The Leeds fan favourite is available for the game and is likely to feature for them against the Villans, after returning from injury before the international break.
However, he smashed his nose in the game against Brentford and is now wearing a piece of equipment for that reason.
Leeds’ Twitter handle looked at the funny side of it on Twitter and wrote, “Na na na na Batman!”
Must start
Ayling got senior minutes during the international break and surely will have used the month-long lay-off to get his fitness back on track.
Rasmus Kristensen has started in Ayling’s absence but has not looked as good and it could be because he’s still to adapt to life in the Premier League.
While the Englishman had his struggles last season, it can be argued that he’s currently the first-choice right-back when fit.
We will be really surprised if he’s not in the playing eleven against Aston Villa’s men but he’s sure to feature at some point in the game.
Leeds need to get back to winning ways and cannot afford to drop points against a Villa side that appears to be struggling for form.
Steven Gerrard still appears to be figuring out what his best system is and the Whites have to capitalise on this fact.
In other Leeds United news, an Elland Road-linked midfielder is now certain to leave his club in the coming weeks as a host of Premier League clubs are vying for his services.
