Luke Ayling speaks out amid Leeds United situation with ‘let this club down’ message
Luke Ayling has sent a message to Leeds United fans regarding the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
The Whites dropped down to the Championship on the final day of the season with a 4-1 home loss to Tottenham.
They finished in 19th place, with Leicester City (18th) and Southampton (20th) also being relegated.

“We let this club down,” Ayling posted on Instagram. “To the fans, I am sorry we couldn’t keep you in the Premier League!!
“All my attention now is to make sure we bounce back straight away! When we got promoted last time we did it without being able to celebrate with our great fans and now that’s what I look forward to and dream of doing!”

Big task
Getting promoted back to the Premier League straight away will not be an easy task, with the Whites certain to face stiff competition from a handful of Championship regulars.
There is, of course, also the presence of Southampton and Leicester, who like Ayling will be desperate to immediately bounce back to the top flight.
Leeds provided the competition with plenty of memorable moments over the years, but this season they simply weren’t good enough, with three managers – Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce – all unable to work their magic in the Elland Road dugout.
The managerial role is now vacant, and that will need to be filled as soon as possible if the Whites are to have any hope of being promoted back to the Premier League next season.
Long-serving player Ayling will be gutted to have let the fans down like this, but not all of the current squad can say the same.
