Luke Ayling slammed in ‘deficiencies’ verdict as Leeds United transfer claim made
Luke Ayling should not be first-choice right-back at Leeds United, according to The Yorkshire Post journalist Stuart Rayner.
The 31-year-old has played every minute possible of the new season so far under new Whites manager Daniel Farke.
The right-back also has a goal to his name, scoring in the 1-1 Championship draw with West Brom on Friday (18 August).

The Whites also have fellow right-back Cody Drameh among their ranks, having lost Rasmus Kristensen on loan to Roma.
“Luke Ayling’s spirit does not sufficiently make up for his deficiencies to be a first-choice right-back,” Rayner wrote for The Yorkshire Post. “Depth is needed after two games unable to fill a bench.”

Big decisions
Who to play at right-back is just one of the big decisions that Farke faces every weekend as manager of the West Yorkshire outfit.
So far, there has only been one clear candidate for the important defensive role, and that is the experienced option in Ayling. He has been there and done it all before for the Whites, something that cannot be said of his young deputy Drameh.
The 21-year-old does, however, boast an impressive career so far, playing a key role while on loan at Luton Town last season as they were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.
His former temporary employees did not make the move permanent, but Drameh certainly has plenty of potential, potential which may be wasted at Elland Road.
Farke will be desperate not to lose any more players this summer, but the young right-back might just want to take his talents elsewhere before the transfer window closes.
