Luke Ayling shares clip of scenes that met Marcelo Bielsa when he arrived at Thorp Arch today
Marcelo Bielsa was given a heroes welcome by the Leeds United players and staff when he arrived at Thorp Arch today (Saturday).
Leeds’ long-awaited promotion to the Premier League was mathematically confirmed on Friday as West Brom lost to Huddersfield.
Players and fans partied hard as the club ended it’s 16-year spell outside of the top-flight and the party mood continued into Saturday when Bielsa arrived at training.
Ayling uploaded a clip on his personal Instagram account, which was shared on Twitter by the Leeds United Snaps account.

Bielsa is a hero, there is no doubt about it.
Just look at the way the players and staff look up to him and you cannot beat seeing that big smile on the Argentine’s face.

He will always be known as the man who took Leeds back to where they belong, which makes him a club legend in the eyes of pretty much every supporter.
It would really put the icing on the cake if Leeds can seal promotion as Championship champions.
As much as winning the league doesn’t really matter, it would be great for them to end their Premier League exile by winning some silverware in the process.
Leeds could be champions before they play Derby at Pride Park on Sunday depending on the Brentford result so let’s see how that goes and maybe the Rams will have to welcome the Whites out with a guard of honour.
That would be a truly fitting end to the club’s spell in the second tier.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in negotiations to sign this 23-year-old attacker.
