Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has responded to a Sky Sports compilation of his goals this season sharing how much he is missing football.
The compilation highlighted just how much Ayling has transformed his game going forward this season, with the right-back spending the majority of games in the opposition half.
In the five games, before the enforced break was brought in alone, the 28-year-old managed to score three goals – including that screamer against Huddersfield in the 2-0 win.
Ayling responded quickly to the video of his best bits on Sunday afternoon, declaring how much he is missing weekly action.
“Missing it bad now,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
It is hard to say when or how football will return, especially this season, but one thing that this video proves is how well Ayling has been playing.
The 28-year-old has already beaten his goal tally for one campaign with still nine to play in the Championship.
Ayling may be missing the action, like all of us, but he definitely will have to wait much longer before it potentially returns.
We may have to wait until the start of next season, with it becoming more and more likely that the season will be abandoned.
League’s One and Two are set to be cancelled as early as this week according to reports, and the Championship looks set to follow suit.
The Times reported that a growing number of second-tier clubs are wanting the season ended, with a point-per-game method the preferred model to conclude the games – something that could see Ayling stepping out onto the field a Premier League player.
