Luke Ayling reacts with two words as Leeds United reach play-off final at Wembley

Luke Ayling has shared a two-word message via Instagram after Leeds United reached the Championship play-off final.

The Whites will head to Wembley after a convincing 4-0 victory over Norwich City at Elland Road on Thursday (16 May).

Following a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final, Daniel Farke’s side swept the Canaries aside with ease in West Yorkshire.

And Ayling, who has been playing his football on loan with Middlesbrough since January, demonstrated that his heart still lies at Elland Road.

The right-back reposted Leeds’ full-time post via his personal Instagram (16 May), alongside the caption, “Wembley baby!!!”.

Luke Ayling demonstrates his love for Leeds United

While Ayling is set to leave Leeds on a free transfer this summer, he has demonstrated that his passion for the club very much remains.

Even though he won’t be heading to the Premier League with the Whites should they be promoted, the 32-year-old has made it clear that he will still be cheering on Farke and the players at Wembley.

Ayling has enjoyed a near-eight-year spell at Elland Road, and while he won’t play for the club again, he will hope that his final season as a Leeds player ends in promotion.

And after the club’s performance against Norwich, there is no reason that can’t happen.

Leeds United and the play-offs do not usually go hand in hand, with the West Yorkshire side having never achieved promotion this way, but they look well positioned to end that miserable streak this season.

And while Ayling might not be able to make a difference on the field, he will be hoping his support helps to get the Whites over the line.
