Luke Ayling reacts to injury recovery video of Robin Koch

Leeds United centre-back Robin Koch is currently working his way back to full fitness after getting injured at the beginning of the campaign.

The Germany international has taken to his personal Instagram account to post a short clip of himself sweating it out in the gym, and Luke Ayling was impressed with what he saw.

Koch has missed the last 10 games but could soon be back in action going by the progress he is putting into making a full recovery.

He posted: “Good progress”, and Ayling replied thus:

Can’t wait

Leeds have shipped 18 league goals so far this season, and while it is just one less than what sixth-placed Manchester United have conceded, they would not likely be struggling defensively if Koch was available.

The German has barely had a decent run of games for the Whites since joining from SC Freiburg last summer, making only 18 league appearances to date.

The defender suffered inflammation in the hip area after just a game into the season and is now looking to get back into action.

In his absence, Liam Cooper has been a mainstay in the Leeds starting XI, while Marcelo Bielsa has been forced to chop and change his line-up a couple of times due to injuries and suspension to other players.

The Whites have some tough fixtures ahead, and with a lot of games to play before January, they could do with someone like Koch in the team.

They need to be clear of the relegation zone heading into the second half of the season, and having such a quality centre-back available will come in handy.

In other Leeds United news, Whites fans will be buzzing after a reliable journalist provided a major injury update.
