Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper thrilled as Leeds announce big news – ‘Love it’
Leeds United have announced a big change behind the scenes at Elland Road.
Leeds are gearing up for their clash with Fulham on Saturday, with hopes of picking up their first away win of the season, and the second of the campaign in total.
However, while all of the internal focus is on the clash at Craven Cottage, the Whites, and in particular the 49ers, have been making progress away from the pitch.
On Friday, Leeds announced a new backroom hire, with several stars past and present reacting to the news via social media.

Staurt Dallas moves into new role at Leeds United
Stuart Dallas is a hero at Elland Road, with a lot of his reputation coming from his playing time as a Leeds United player.
Dallas was known as Mr. Versatile, and he embodied everything that it meant to represent the Whites throughout his nine-year stay at the club.
The Northern Ireland international made 266 appearances throughout his time with Leeds, scoring 28 goals, and has since been recognised for his contributions.
Dallas’ record at Leeds
- 266 appearances in all competitions
- 28 goals
- 17 assists
- Retired in 2022
On Friday, 12 September, Leeds announced via their Instagram that Dallas has been appointed club ambassador at Elland Road.
His new role will see him attend matches, events and visit various areas in the community, primarily to build relationships away from the pitch.
A statement shared via the Leeds website reads: “Stuart’s infectious personality, along with his dedication to Leeds United and the wider area, will see him regularly attend matches, community visits and club events.
“Whilst he will also be a mentor for a number of young players within the Academy at Thorp Arch in his new role.”
How Leeds figures reacted to Stuart Dallas appointment
It isn’t only Leeds fans who love Dallas, but also anyone he has ever shared a pitch with, as seen via the replies to the club announcement.
Luke Ayling replied: “Love it”, while former Whites ace Barry Douglas responded with three applauding emojis and a face with hearts for eyes.
- Joel Robles: “😍😍🙌”
- Liam Cooper: “There he is”
To have such a well-respected former player move into an ambassadorial role is a big boost for Leeds, and an excellent decision made by those above.
While the main focus will be delivering success on the pitch, Leeds need to ensure that they find just as much away from it, and there is no better man to place that responsibility with than Dallas.
