Lukas Nmecha transfer: Josuha Guilavogui excited after Leeds announcement

Leeds United made Lukas Nmecha their first summer signing this transfer window at Elland Road.

The Whites signed the 26-year-old from Wolfsburg as a free agent, with his contract with the Bundesliga outfit expiring.

Josuha Guilavogui has left Elland Road after signing for the West Yorkshire outfit in October, but he became a fan favourite during his short spell.

With Daniel Farke’s team making a new addition in Nmecha, the French veteran has reacted to his arrival.

Nmecha and Guilavogui share a connection through Wolfsburg, having played together at Volkswagen Arena for a few seasons.

Reacting to the centre-forward’s arrival at the West Yorkshire outfit, the 34-year-old midfielder commented: “Leggo.”

Farke needs more than Nmecha transfer at Leeds this summer

Joel Piroe was pivotal at Leeds last season, and he will undoubtedly be the main number nine in the upcoming campaign as well, but it remains to be seen how the Dutchman fares in the Premier League.

Farke can’t just rely on the ex-Swansea star to get him goals, and should demand further additions up front.

Mateo Joseph could leave Elland Road soon as Real Betis want to sign him this summer, and Patrick Bamford also looks to be on his way out.

Leeds can’t just stop at adding Nmecha to their ranks, as the 26-year-old isn’t particularly known for his goal-scoring prospects in the Bundesliga.

The German striker seems like a decent backup option to have in the squad, but fans won’t be expecting anything special from him.

It would make sense for the Whites to get a reliable goalscorer ahead of next season and shift Piroe to a deeper role, which he has played during his career.

Dan James and Willy Gnonto need to step up to Premier League standards and be the West Yorkshire outfit’s creative force next season.

While the Peacocks have some quality individuals in their ranks, Farke could arguably do with more options at his disposal.
