Luis Sinisterra is unlikely to make the Leeds United matchday squad for the clash with Bournemouth on Sunday (30 April), according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Colombian hobbled off after just 32 minutes in the meeting with Leicester City on Tuesday (25 April), having scored the opening goal of the game just before.

And Crysencio Summerville, who replaced Sinisterra against the Foxes, has been backed to take his place in the starting XI against the Cherries, instead of Wilfried Gnonto.

“Gnonto has featured nominally as a left-sided attacker this season and with injury to Sinisterra on Tuesday night, it is unlikely the Colombian will make the matchday squad this weekend,” according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“Still, it is probable Gracia selects Summerville ahead of Gnonto in his starting XI versus Bournemouth.”

Fan confusion understandable

The confusion among fans as to why Gnonto isn’t getting much game time of late is absolutely understandable, both given his talent and the club’s desperate need for goals.

While the young Italian may not be capable of regularly finding the back of the net, he still has that creative spark that could cause chaos among opposition defenders.

The youngster will want to improve upon his goal and assist tallies next season, wherever he is playing, but he really hasn’t been given enough opportunities of late to do that at his current club.

Crysencio meanwhile has proven his ability at times in the final third, but he is another that will want to be doing more when it comes to goals and assists.

Manager Javi Gracia won’t care where the attacking firepower comes from against the Cherries, only that it does indeed come.

But given Sinisterra scored the club’s only goal against Leicester, the winger will be a huge miss if he fails to recover from the knock he picked up at Elland Road.
