Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto ruled out – Confirmed Leeds United team news vs West Brom

Daniel Farke has confirmed Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra won’t play for Leeds against West Brom on Friday as they seek a move away from the club.

The boss confirmed that the attackers want to leave the club and are training away from the first-team group until their situation is confirmed, and until then they won’t be available for selection.

Left-back Leo Hjelde suffered a concussion and won’t be available for Friday either, but Sam Greenwood, Georginio Rutter and Joe Rodon have trained all week and could play while Sonny Perkins has recovered from illness.

“Hjelde had a concussion in training yesterday, so he won’t be available on Friday,” he said. “Good news is that Greenwood has been training. Rutter and Rodon have had full training weeks, so they can play.”

Clarity

It seems as though Leeds are getting themselves back into the driver’s seat in the transfer window with the boss confirming that they are working hard behind the scenes to sign players, but also that some contract clauses have expired.

Gnonto and Sinisterra’s futures obviously hang over the rest of the squad, but it seems that Farke has made a decision that they won’t play until the window is closed which brings some clarity to the situation.

Fans know what is happening now, and with players beginning to come back from injury now the squad is starting to look stronger.

There is still no Tyler Adams, Stuart Dallas, Crysencio Summerville, Patrick Bamford or Mateo Joseph but once they come back the team will look much stronger plus any additions that come in.

Elland Road will be rocking on Friday to back these players that do want to be here and are fighting for the shirt, so hopefully we can pick up our first three points of the season too.
