Luca Thomas hailed by Adam Hinshelwood after what Leeds United loanee did for York City

Leeds United ace Luca Thomas has been hailed by York City manager Adam Hinshelwood after his recent outings for the club.

The 20-year-old recently sealed a move to the National League side after impressing for the Whites’ youth team this season.

Thomas has only played three times for Hinshelwood’s side since arriving but it seems like he’s already made a lasting impact on his new manager.

“I just think that he has done well, we played him a little bit in an unfamiliar position,” Hinshelwood said to the York Press (29 October).

“We wanted him to come in on his left-foot and pick up spaces that would allow Ryan Fallowfield to go on the overlap around him.

“He probably wasn’t comfortable out there, but I think he’s done enough to warrant, from the two games that he has come on in, a start.

“There’s a lad with real potential there, and hopefully there is a real hunger to see what we are all about with the atmosphere that he has played in front of.”

Luca Thomas moving to York City was perfect for Leeds United

He is likely Leeds’ brightest prospect within their ranks at the moment so it didn’t come as much of a surprise to see him instantly hit the ground running.

While there isn’t a spot in Daniel Farke’s team for the youngster just yet, if he continues at this rate of development across the rest of the term, he’ll certainly have a bright future ahead of him at Elland Road.

In other Leeds news, Dan James’ role in Daniel Farke’s team now seems untouchable after what he did v Bristol City.
