A career in print magazines that included editing PC Zone, launching PokerPlayer and redesigning The Big Issue has finally led Dave to writing about the love of his life, Leeds United. It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

talkSPORT pundit Perry Groves has named four Leeds United players who have been improved hugely by Marcelo Bielsa.

The former Arsenal star said that Patrick Bamford "looked like a competition winner" at Norwich but has now been turned into a "very, very good Premier League player".

He said, "I love Marcelo Bielsa" as he ran through the Leeds players who have been given a new lease of life at the very top of the game.

"Bamford. I saw him playing for Norwich and he looked like a competition winner," said Groves on the White & Jordan Show (talkSPORT, Thursday, 12.30pm). "Now he looks like a very, very good Premier League player.

"Luke Ayling when he was released from Arsenal, no one thought he'd get to where he is now.

"Kalvin Phillips is one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League.

"He [Bielsa] hasn't changed his game at all since he came in the Premier League.

"That’s a hugely good thing for these players and I haven’t even mentioned Stuart Dallas who has improved immeasurably."

Bamford has hit the jackpot

Bamford has had to put up with a lot of criticism from pundits and talkSPORT themselves put out a tweet asking if he was good enough for the Premier League this summer.

Bamford responded to that directly on Twitter but has given a much more emphatic answer on the pitch.

Bamford has 10 goals already and is gunning for the Golden Boot.

All it took is a manager who had faith in him through thick and thin. Bamford has seen off Eddie Nketiah and is starting in the Premier League ahead of Rodrigo, Spain's number nine.

If Bielsa can work his same magic on already established players like Rodrigo and Raphinha, then Leeds can get even better than they are now without signing anyone in January.
