Loaned-out Leeds youngster to report back to Thorp Arch, issues update on future
Leeds United forward Jay-Roy Grot has claimed that he is set to report back at Thorp Arch once the enforced break is over.
The Dutch youngster was on-loan at Vitesse during this season, but the Eredivisie has already been cancelled, much to the dismay of the teams involved.
Grot’s future has been unclear in West Yorkshire, though he has confirmed that he will be preparing for the new season with the Whites.
Grot gave an update on his future at the same time, claiming that he doesn’t know where he will be playing after pre-season preparation.
“As it stands, I am starting the new season in England,” he told Gelderlander.
“With the preparation in Leeds. And after that? Then I see. For the time being, there is no football at all.”

If Grot was in the plans of Marcelo Bielsa, he would have at least featured off the bench at some point of his tenure at Elland Road – that hasn’t happened.
Bielsa clearly has Patrick Bamford at the top of his list and puts full faith in the 26-year-old to lead the line. Behind him, the marquee loan signing of Jean-Kevin Augustin clearly puts Grot way further down the pecking order.
On top of that, the recent success of Tyler Roberts in the final third has put Grot even further down the list.
Looking at Grot’s record this season, nothing could change that. The 22-year-old has only scored twice in his 22 appearances and that simply isn’t good enough.
