Liverpool star reacts as Joel Piroe shares Leeds United message

Joel Piroe was one of the stars of the show as Leeds United defeated Bristol City 4-0 at Elland Road on Monday.

The Dutchman expertly picked out Willy Gnonto with a well-crafted pass to notch his seventh assist of the Championship campaign.

Piroe has also scored 19 goals 45 Championship appearances this term, and leads the second tier’s golden boot race.

Thanks to their emphatic win over Bristol City, Leeds will win the Championship title if they beat Plymouth in the final game of the season on Saturday.

Liverpool ace reacts as Piroe celebrates Leeds win on Instagram

After the Whites beat the Robins at Elland Road, Piroe wrote on Instagram (29 April): “Top football, top win, top of the league.”

Liverpool ace and fellow Dutchman Cody Gakpo gave the 25-year-old’s post a like.

Piroe could prove his worth in the Premier League next term

Although Leeds are by far the Championship’s top scorers, having notched 94 goals in 45 outings so far, there is no doubt that the West Yorkshire club must bolster their forward line in preparation for the Premier League.

As such, Daniel Farke’s men have been linked with a move for Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan with AC Milan and previously performed well in the English top flight for Chelsea.

But Piroe could be set to break the 20-goal mark in the Championship this term, and has arguably shown he is ready for the challenge of Premier League football.

While the likes of Abraham would be a better asset for the Whites in the top tier than the former Swansea man, Piroe is well-equipped for game time in the Premier League as he can operate in the number 10 role as well as acting as an out-and-out striker.
