Liverpool injury update shared ahead of Premier League clash v Leeds United
Liverpool could welcome back Luiz Diaz for their Premier League clash against Leeds United, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.
The Colombian has been sidelined for the majority of the 2022/23 season but is now nearing a return with Dinnery rating his chances of playing on Monday evening at “75 per cent”. The 26-year-old was signed for £37.5million in January 2022 (BBC Sport) and has registered 18 goals and assists in just 38 games for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Reds will be without Calvin Ramsay and Stefan Bajcetic, who are both out for the remainder of the 2022/23 season (Premier Injuries). Naby Keita is also out after sustaining an injury on international duty.

Bad news
Diaz’s return is extremely bad news for Leeds. The Colombian has been a revelation since moving to the Premier League and had he been fit all season, the Reds’ fortunes would’ve been very different. The 26-year-old has pace, energy, quick feet and finishing ability. He’s almost the complete winger.
It’s absolutely vital for Leeds to prevent wide open spaces from emerging. The capitulation against Crystal Palace was unfathomable, particularly after the first-half performance. If the same gaps emerge against Liverpool, the outcome will be even worse.

This week the Spaniard will earn his money. There were so many positives to take from the first-half display and it’s now up to the 52-year-old to build the players’ confidence back up. It will certainly be a tough test on Monday evening at Elland Road, but a positive result cannot be dismissed.
There will be plenty of twists and turns and stranger things have certainly happened.
