Liverpool earmark Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch as Jurgen Klopp successor
Liverpool are reportedly set to watch Jesse Marsch as he recently took over the reins at Leeds United from Marcelo Bielsa.
According to Liverpool.com, the Champions League and Premier League giants see him as a long-term successor to Jurgen Klopp.
Steven Gerrard is understood to be on their shortlist, but along with him, the American is also now being earmarked as an option.
Marsch has not even managed one game in the United Kingdom and he’s already linked with a move to a big club like Liverpool.
The Reds are going to be relentless in their pursuit of their managerial target and we’re hoping that it’s not Marsch.
With Bielsa, there was a guarantee that he would never ditch the club in pursuit of a better job that pays him more.
He was always someone who was dedicated to the project and never one to chase silverware.
Liverpool are a completely different club in that aspect and if Marsch transforms this Leeds team into a perennial top-ten side, he surely will be touted by the Reds hierarchy.
We’re hoping that Gerrard impresses as well so they keep their eyes and financial might away from Elland Road and Marsch.
Not only are they eyeing Raphinha, but now want the Whites’ manager as well.
Marsch does set up teams in a similar way as Klopp does so it’s understandable why they would look at him as an ideal successor.
