Lights on at Elland Road spotted as Leeds United near 11pm transfer deadline

Leeds United have put the Elland Road floodlights on ahead of the 11 pm transfer deadline with activity potentially brewing in LS11.

The Whites’ January transfer window has been relatively quiet this season, with most activity being outgoings from Elland Road, rather than incoming signings, much to the frustration of Leeds fans.

However, Connor Roberts is said to be closing in on a loan move to West Yorkshire, with the Burnley defender having travelled for his medical this afternoon.

Who could it be?

Roberts would be the perfect addition for Daniel Farke, with Luke Ayling and Djed Spence having departed so far, leaving Archie Gray as the number-one right back.

The Welshman already knows Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Dan James from his time in the international set-up for his country, making it easy to settle in, no doubt.

Given the late nature of everything, it looks unlikely that Roberts would be available against Bristol City tomorrow, but stranger things have happened if he is confirmed as a loan signing.

The likes of Darko Gyabi, Leo Hjelde, Ayling and Robin Koch have left the club this window, either on loan or on a permanent deal. Leeds fans just want to see one new face come through the doors before the deadline.

Despite the links to Roberts starting earlier today, it looks as though it will be a late-night announcement from the club as they get things ready.
