Liam Rosenior left angry after what he was told about Leeds United incident vs Chelsea
Liam Rosenior was not happy with one key deicison in Leeds United’s draw with Chelsea.
Leeds United secured a point in a 2-2 draw away to Chelsea on Tuesday night, despite having gone 2-0 down with just over 30 minutes left.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence pre-match was a blow for the Whites, but with a goal and an assist, Lukas Nmecha stepped up for the occasion, with Noah Okafor also on the scoresheet.
However, an incident in the build-up to the goal left Rosenior seething, and even more so after what he was told live on air after the game.
What did Liam Rosenior say about Jayden Bogle incident?
Chelsea had little right to complain about the penalty incident that led to Nmecha getting Leeds back in the game, given that it was a clear foul from Moises Caicedo.
However, Okafor’s equalising goal certainly caused controversy at Stamford Bridge.
The ball quite clearly struck the arm of Bogle, before an almighty scramble eventually saw the ball fall in front of an empty goal, to which the Swiss forward took full advantage of.
After the game, it was explained to Rosenior that the goal was allowed to stand as it was deemed an accidental handball, and it’s fair to say that this not only baffled the Chelsea boss, but also frustrated him.
Via TNT Sports, he said: “If there’s any contact, it should be disallowed. From my understanding, if there’s any handball in the lead-up to the goal.
“Somebody needs to explain the rules to me. You saying that [it was an unintentional handball] has got me angrier.”

Leeds United repeat Arsenal incident at Stamford Bridge
Just as Arsenal did in the Carabao Cup last week, Leeds United had players in the Chelsea half throughout the pre-match warm-ups.
One of the Blues’ coaching staff complained to Alex Cairns, who was situated in that half of the pitch when catching kicks from Karl Darlow.
Via X, Graham Smyth reiterated how a statement from Rosenior could be possible, having accused Arsenal of having a lack of respect last time out.
He said: “Alex Cairns is stationed in the Chelsea half of the pitch, catching Karl Darlow’s kicks. One of Chelsea’s staff members has gone and complained to Cairns, who is doing his best to diffuse.
“We can probably expect a statement from Liam Rosenior.”
