Liam Cooper sends one-word message as Leeds United player transfer confirmed

Liam Cooper has sent a one-word message to Tyler Roberts after the latter left Leeds United for Birmingham City.

As per the club’s official Twitter account, Birmingham have signed the forward from the Whites on a four-year deal.

Roberts make the switch to the fellow Championship club after five years at Leeds, where he made over 100 appearances and won promotion to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan in the second division at QPR, where he made 20 appearances in all competitions.

The player took to social media to thank Leeds for his many years at the club, with his former teammate Cooper commenting on Instagram: “Starboy.”

Moving on

Roberts was once a key figure at Elland Road, playing an important role as the Whites lifted the Championship trophy in the 2019/20 season.

But his importance at the club slowly dwindled in more recent times, with the forward moving out on loan before now making his permanent exit from Elland Road.

He will, of course, be missed by fans and players alike, but his switch to Birmingham represents the next chapter in his career.

And at just 24 years old, Roberts can go on to have a very successful career away from West Yorkshire, with Birmingham fans hoping he can hit the ground running immediately at his new club.

He will no doubt miss Elland Road, but Roberts will definitely be in for a warm welcome when his new club travel there to take on the Whites this season.

His exit definitely shows that Leeds don’t want to waste any time in getting the right squad for the upcoming campaign, with his transfer set to be one of many that will take place at the club this summer.

In other Leeds United news, one big-name manager is now in pole position to be next in charge at Elland Road.
