Lewis Jones predicts result of Leeds clash vs Southampton
Sky Sports expert Lewis Jones believes Leeds showed against Wolves that they won’t be relegated, as he predicted the result of their clash against Southampton.
The Whites earned back-to-back wins thanks to a comeback win against Wolves last time out, putting them seven points above the relegation zone.
They return to Premier League action against Southampton this afternoon, who have lost their last four games in all competitions, but Jones told Sky Sports that this game ‘screams’ a draw by predicting a 1-1 final score.
“Leeds showed at Wolves why they won’t be going down this season,” he said.
“It was a performance level akin to a Everton, Watford, Burnley and Norwich, but what they have in abundance is team unity and spirit to get results out of nothing.
“Jesse Marsch has tightened them up slightly, but his workings will be judged next season when he’s had time to shape his squad. This game screams draw to me.”

Must not lose
The seven point cushion that Leeds have opened up is certainly a reason to panic less, but it should be remembered that the teams below them have all played less games.
That means that while they’re in a good spot, the job is not done just yet and they can’t take their foot off the gas.
Marsch is likely to welcome back several players from injury for the game, but that could affect the rhythm of the team initially and while the Elland Road crowd will push them on the important thing is to not lose.
A draw is a good result as it adds to their tally and keeps the momentum going, so this is a game they simply can’t lose rather than must win.
As long as they’re adding points to their tally it’s a good result as far as their push for survival is concerned, but there is plenty of opportunity to secure all three points and that should be the main aim.
