Lewis Cook wowed by Leeds United man Leif Davis

Lewis Cook has been blown away by Leeds United starlet Leif Davis during their spell together at Bournemouth.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, the 24-year-old central midfielder, who has one cap for England, revealed just how impressed he had been with the 21-year-old left-back.

He has been particularly blown away by Davis’ directness on the ball, and Cook clearly likes him off the field as well.

He said: “He’s a great lad.

“He’s settled in really well; I think you saw the last game (against Swansea) how well he played.

“He is going to take a few games to get going, but you can see how direct he is. He played a good part for the goal (at Derby). He is a top lad and a good member of our squad.”

Davis is starting to do better.

The Leeds starlet had a tough start to life on the south coast with Bournemouth as he only made four league appearances in the first 16 games.

However, he has now played in the last two and appears to be gaining confidence and making a big impression in Scott Parker’s team.

He also contributed an assist in the 4-0 win over Swansea City, so it appears as if he is finally starting to show exactly what he can do after a difficult start.

It is nice to hear Cook praise Davis and the former Leeds man made the same move himself in 2016 when the Cherries picked him up from Elland Road.

So, it appears as if he has provided David with some guidance, and hopefully, he can establish himself as Bournemouth’s first-choice left-back for the rest of the season.

Then he can return to Elland Road, ready to compete with Junior Firpo, which would be great to see.

In other Leeds United news, Marcelo Bielsa intends to add a Premier League outcast to his squad in January.
