Leko one of two West Brom players on holiday in Spain with Leeds stars to celebrate promotion
West Brom duo Kyle Edwards and Jonathan Leko have joined a group of Leeds United players on holiday in Spain to celebrate winning promotion to the Premier League.
Edwards shared a clip on his personal Instagram account which shows Tyler Roberts falling into a swimming pool while wearing his Championship title-winning medal.
Edwards also showed a clip of himself and Leko, who was racially abused by Kiko Casilla back in September when he was on loan at Charlton, partying beside the pool in Marbella.
Kalvin Phillips and Ben White are also among the Leeds stars who are celebrating promotion in Marbella this weekend.
Roberts rose through the ranks of the academy at West Brom, alongside Edwards and Leko, before being snapped up by Leeds in January 2018.
The Wales international has had his injury issues at Elland Road but there is no denying that he has played a role in helping the Whites return to the Premier League.
It is good to see that he still keeps in touch with his friends at West Brom, even though the whole Leko-Casilla race storm would have tested that friendship over the course of the season.
Leeds and West Brom have been the two best teams in the Championship this season and although the Baggies had to wait until the last day to seal their promotion, there’s no denying they are a lot better than the rest of the league.
West Brom are more accustomed to life in the Premier League than Leeds but it will be interesting to see how the two teams get on next season.
Of course, there’ll be no niceties when they play against each other in the top-flight or if they are competing to avoid relegation but they are two clubs who’ve gone up with great mutual respect for one another.
