Leeds yet to meet £10m valuation for Lewis O’Brien

Leeds United are yet to meet the valuation of Huddersfield Town Lewis O’Brien as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Sun reported over the weekend that talks had intensified after the Whites were snubbed by Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who decided to join Crystal Palace.

It was suggested that the Terriers have demanded £10million, with Victor Orta exploring potential player swap deals to bring that down.

Alan Nixon has shared the latest update, after being quizzed for any updates on Tuesday afternoon.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, the journalist reported that there was no fee agreed despite talks progressing.

“Huddersfield want big cash,” he wrote.

“Leeds yet to meet valuation.”

Coming soon?

Everything is in place for this deal to be completed if the Whites really want to bring the midfielder to Elland Road.

Leeds know the price they must pay, Huddersfield are open to selling O’Brien if that is met, everything appears straightforward.

The 22-year-old would surely love a move across West Yorkshire, and the chance to improve in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa.

It gets somewhat complicated when the possibility of players being involved to bring the fee down slightly.

Huddersfield are yet to be interested in that, and there may be some more player offers coming before the Whites succumb and pay the £10million fee.

Bielsa wants a midfielder and needs a back-up for Kalvin Phillips, so this one is certainly one to watch as each day passes.
