Leeds want to sign Jovane Cabral from Sporting CP
Leeds United want to sign Sporting CP winger Jovane Cabral this summer, according to A Bola.
The Portuguese outlet has reported on their website that the Lions have offered clubs the chance to sign the Cape Verde star.
Sporting need to sell the player to conduct their own business, and £12.9million could get the deal done.
There is plenty of competition.
Three other Premier League clubs have also registered their interest and could have been offered the player, they include Watford, Southampton and West Ham.
Victor Orta could have been handed the golden chance to sign the player, who has been made available by his club.
Sporting want to sign former Spurs winger Marcus Edwards, but it appears as though Cabral needs to go first; something that could drive his price down even further.
Worth it?
Marcelo Bielsa clearly wants more competition for both Jack Harrison and Raphinha at Elland Road, meaning it won’t be a huge chunk of money spent.
Cabral fits into the category of cheap and affordable, and delivered decent numbers for his limited playing time last season.
The 23-year-old made 24 appearances, but only six of those were starts in Liga NOS, but still managed to score five goals and add four assists in the title-winning campaign.
