Leeds want move for Dan James before Tuesday deadline

Leeds United want to sign Manchester United winger Dan James before the transfer deadline on Tuesday, according to The Athletic.

Adam Crafton has shared that the Whites are open to a loan move or even a permanent switch for the Welsh speedster.

It is reported that it would take an offer of £20million+ to get a deal over the line for the Old Trafford star.

There are a number of factors that could change this, though.

One of those is reported to be the perception of making the switch between Leeds and Manchester United, one that led to Alan Smith being villainized all those years ago.

James is said to be wary of that, and how fans would react should he made the move to Elland Road this week.

Marcelo Bielsa is obviously a long-term admirer, and it is suggested that he wants this deal completed before the deadline.

Get it done.

It is clear that we are crying out for more options in the final third.

While Bielsa is in charge at Elland Road, a move for James could never be shut down given how much he appreciates the former Swansea man.

We all remember the Amazon documentary showing how close we got to securing James a couple of years ago, and hopefully, that story can finally happen just with a different route in-between.

£20million+ is a major outlay for a signing at Elland Road, and an initial loan move as we did with Jack Harrison may be smart.

Either way, this signing would surely be welcomed by many.
