Leeds v Millwall postponement latest as Met Office issues brand-new warning
Leeds United and Millwall’s Championship meeting at Elland Road has been preceded by a brand new weather warning.
Leeds head into Wednesday’s match against one of their modern-day rivals amid their worst spell of form so far this season, winning just one point from six available and losing to Portsmouth last time out.
A draw with West Brom and their defeat on the south coast has seen Daniel Farke’s side be overtaken by Sheffield United at the top of the Championship table, albeit by just one point with a game in hand.
Bristol City and West Brom both did Leeds favours by holding the Blades and Burnley respectively to draws on Tuesday, giving the Whites a chance to move two points clear at the summit with a victory.

Met Office issue weather warning ahead of Leeds v Millwall
Leeds have already faced Millwall twice this season without success, suffering a 1-0 defeat at The Den back in November before February’s 2-0 loss at home to the Lions in the FA Cup fourth round.

Ahead of the third meeting between the two sides in all competitions this term, the Met Office have released a yellow weather warning for ice in the North of England (12 March), including the Leeds area.
The areas affected by the new warning spans the entirety of the pennines from Allendale in the north, down to the Peak District, covering built-up areas including Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield and Sheffield.
However, Wednesday’s meeting between Leeds and Millwall will still go ahead without a hitch with the warning in place between 3am and 9am on Thursday 13 March, quashing any fears of a postponement.

Leeds United given perfect chance to break Millwall hoodoo
With a packed, floodlit Elland Road set to host a must-win encounter and the bad weather on hold until the early hours, the stage is set for Leeds to re-stake their claims at the top of the Championship.
Burnley and Sheffield United both being held to draws on Tuesday – the latter thanks to a 90th-minute strike by Bristol City’s Mark Sykes – gives the Whites a golden opportunity to head back to the summit.
While not quite the best-case scenario heading into Wednesday’s match – Sheffield United now sit top by a point – both direct promotion rivals dropping points opens the door for Leeds to recover.
Millwall may have already won away against a much-changed United side in the FA Cup, but with a point to prove and three points to win under the lights, expect Elland Road to be at its absolutely fervent best.
