Leeds v Luton preview: Team news, head-to-head, where to watch, prediction

Leeds United are straight back into Championship action on Wednesday as they welcome Luton Town to Elland Road.

After a dramatic 4-3 win against Swansea City on Sunday [24 November], the Whites will be hoping to make it three wins on the bounce ahead of another game at the weekend.

Their victory means they currently sit at the top of the table but are still level on points with Sunderland and Sheffield United.

Preview

Wilfried Gnonto’s 91st-minute winner in Wales secured his side three points and the top spot in the Championship.

When their opponents scored to make it 3-3 in the 90th minute, many Leeds fans would’ve understandably thought that was game over so the side’s ability to dig in and find that winning goal speaks volumes about a team looking to return to the Premier League this season.

With both top-spot rivals playing on Tuesday night (26 November), the Whites will go into this one knowing what they need from the game if they want to retain their position in the league.

However, coming up against an inconsistent Hatters side, this is a game they should be looking to win regardless of what others do on Tuesday as these are the results that could make all the difference at the end of the season.

Luton come into this game with a bit of momentum after a 1-0 win against Hull City and they will be hoping they can fix their form after seemingly benefiting from the international break.

Prediction: Leeds United 3-1 Luton Town

Back on home turf and with the momentum of a big win at the weekend, Farke’s side will be looking to secure another three points from this game.

Despite a win at the weekend, the Hatters do not come into this one as favourites and some injuries in the side means that they have to change their line-up going into this one.

Leeds can be at risk of letting a goal in this season but they should still get a comfortable victory here.
