Leeds United youngster Dani van den Heuvel back in training after surgery

Leeds United young goalkeeper Dani van den Heuvel has posted a message on his Instagram story after he finally made a return to training.

The Whites young sensation fractured bones in his neck and jaw in a car accident that left him needing surgery.

He is now back involved with Marcos Abad’s goalkeeping sessions at Thorp Arch and trained alongside first-choice keeper Illan Meslier.

The youngster posted a brilliant message on Instagram with the caption: “Back in training.”

Great news

It’s really good news that the youngster is back in training. He is seen taking the goalkeeping drills but the injuries have cost him a few months of action.

The Whites signed him in 2020, and he has a deal at the club that runs until 2023.

Obviously, it will take more time for him to return to full fitness, but he will hopefully be back playing as soon as possible.

The last thing any youngster who is hoping for a breakthrough needs an injury, but it could have been a lot worse.

Heuvel will be expected to compete with Klaesson and Harry Christy for a spot on the side, and the club will make sure that he is on the right track.

Leeds really need to find a reliable back-up solution to Meslier. The senior players on the side like Meslier and Joel Robles could pass down their experience which can help the Dutchman grow as a player.

In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta have started scanning the market for potential upgrades on Jesse Marsch at Elland Road
