Leeds United youngster Archie Gray sends message to Arsenal player Ethan Nwaneri

Leeds United youngster Archie Gray has sent a message to Arsenal player Ethan Nwaneri after he became the youngest ever top-flight player.

The 15-year-old came off the bench for the Gunners in their win over Brentford on Sunday.

This saw him make headlines for obvious reasons, and Gray, who has been tipped by many to become Leeds’ youngest top flight player, congratulated him.

Via his Instagram account on 18 September, he wrote, “The best.”

Time for Gray?

It’s good to see players getting a chance at the professional game that early in life and many Leeds fans have similar expectations of Gray.

He’s been around the block for at least a year and has even travelled and trained with the senior team in the past.

The next logical step is certainly a senior bow and even if it is in the Carabao Cup, it will be a moment to cherish for the 16-year-old.

Leeds have promoted numerous youngsters over the past and that is a testament to the solid system in place at Thorp Arch.

The club hierarchy appears to ensure that the academy is at a level compared to some of Europe’s big clubs and thus far, they are doing a pretty good job.

Of course, things can always be better, but no Leeds fan would complain at the number of talented players that it has produced over the last five years.
