Leeds United winger Raphinha wages to double after Barcelona personal terms agreed – report

Leeds United winger Raphinha has agreed personal terms with Barcelona ahead of a potential summer transfer to the Nou Camp, according to Goal.

As first reported by Goal on Tuesday [17 May], It is understood that the Brazilian will see his wages doubled if he does make the move to the Spanish giants on a contract until 2027.

OUL Sports reported on Monday [16 May] that Barcelona have made an initial bid of £55million for the Brazilian star.

Raphinha’s current contract runs until the summer of 2024 with the player keen to move on from Elland Road.

New challenge

It is evident that Raphinha cares about Leeds United, with his reaction to Luke Ayling’s red card and an emotional moment after the Whites’ final home game of the season against Brighton.

Raphinha clearly has the ability to play Champions League football and is at an age where he must move on for the sake of his career.

Unfortunately for him, it is unlikely that he will be able to achieve his aspirations at Elland Road.

If Leeds had pushed on from their excellent first season back in the Premier League then maybe things could have been different.

Barcelona will give the winger the platform to develop into one of Europe’s best wide men.

Leeds United

The Spanish giants are playing a waiting game to sign the winger, which is understandable considering their FFP issues at present.

If Leeds are relegated then a deal will certainly come cheaper for the Xavi’s side.

If the Whites hold any hopes of retaining the Brazilian’s services, then battling to Premier League survival is a must for Jesse Marsch’s men.

If the Brentford clash on Sunday [22 May] is Raphinha’s last game for the club, then he more than anyone will be desperate to keep Leeds in the Premier League.

In Leeds United news, an under-the-radar court case involving the transfer of a Leeds player has reached its conclusion with the final payout revealed.
