Leeds United winger Raphinha hellbent on joining Barcelona
Raphinha wants to join Barcelona and he is waiting for an agreement to be reached with Leeds United, according to Sport.
The Brazilian winger has been a key player for the Whites, but the Yorkshire club will face a tough fight to keep him if they get relegated.
Barcelona will try to negotiate a deal for Raphinha, but they want to reduce his asking price, thought to be in the region of £50 million.
The report claims that Barcelona want to tie Raphinha on a five-year contract. West Ham are also interested but the 25-year-old has told Leeds that he will only move to the Catalan club.
It looks like Raphina will leave the club in the summer.
The Brazilian has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in the Premier League this season, and he has been a pure class at times.
Even if Leeds avoid the drop, they will find it hard to prevent Raphinha from leaving if Barcelona come calling.
However, the club must look into the business side of the deal as well, and should aim to get the maximum profit out of the sale.
The Hammers are reportedly interested but Raphinha doesn’t want to join them. He is ambitious and wants to play for an elite-level club.
Barcelona are trying to add some players as a part of the deal for Raphinha, but whether that would appeal to the Whites remains unclear.
Marsch will want to stamp his own authority in the transfer market and he will look to rebuild the squad.
At the moment, Leeds must aim to secure Premier League safety. They are 18th in the table, only two points ahead of Everton.
In other Leeds United news, £90million worth of player exits are on the cards at Elland Road this summer.
