Leeds United winger Raphinha agrees five-year deal with Barcelona, negotiations continue for fee - report
Leeds United star Raphinha has already agreed to a five-year deal with Barcelona ahead of a mega move, according to SPORT.
The Spanish outlet has reported on their website that the Brazilian is their number one target, with a £29.2million offer on the table.
That isn’t said to have been accepted, although negotiations are on the right track to be sorted within weeks for Raphinha.
Deco is said to have put Raphinha’s name on the table at the Nou Camp at the start of this current season.
The agent used to play for Barcelona and informed them that his client would not be signing a new deal at Elland Road.
Xavi is said to have said yes to a potential move, Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff are said to have taken over negotiations.
Barcelona want to have their signings for next season sorted as soon as possible, with a definitive agreement with Leeds wanted in the coming weeks.
Nightmare.
We knew this moment was coming, but there was some level of hope that Raphinha would sign a new contract.
The Brazilian has been a superstar in his short stay at Elland Road, and if he does leave, the money has to reflect that.
The current offer on the table is way too short and will surely need to be doubled in order for Barcelona to get their way.
Raphinha is priceless to Leeds, so the money coming in would need to be enough to replace him with another star, if not two.
With Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United also said to be interested, going to Barcelona would at least remove the fear of him embarrassing us season after season.
Hopefully, he can end this season with a bang.
