Leeds United win over Wolves ‘huge’ - Brenden Aaronson
Attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson believes that Leeds United winning the opening fixture of the new Premier League campaign was “huge”.
The Whites came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Elland Road on Saturday.
Aaronson was quoted in a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post where he stated his excitement in getting the result for the side.
“It’s huge,” he said.
“It’s a big awesome result for us to start the season with three points. At the end of last season, it was tough but to start the year with three points is always great.”
Leeds United came off the back of a difficult campaign where they had to battle it out on the last day of the competition to keep their place in the top-flight in English football.
It was very important for the Whites to ensure that they will not go through the same route and a win on Saturday would give them a much-needed boost going forward.
What was even more special was the character shown by the players on the day where they went a goal behind and were playing for the first time after the departure of key players like Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.
Manager Jesse Marsch will be extremely pleased after looking at how his players turned it around and one of the best performers on the day was Aaronson.
The USMNT midfielder, who joined the club earlier in the transfer window from Austrian club RB Salzburg in a deal worth £29 million, was simply outstanding on the day as he not only provided key passes to his teammates but also showed great work ethic as well [Transfermarkt].
