Leeds United will sell Kalvin Phillips if the price is right – John Giles
Leeds will allow Kalvin Phillips to leave and join Manchester United this summer if they get a good enough offer, according to former player John Giles.
Phillips has been linked with a £60m move to Old Trafford this summer [MEN] but there is some talk about whether or not he’d go through with the mood as a lifelong Leeds fan.
But Giles, who made that opposite move back in 1963, told Off The Ball that he believes he would do well if the deal happened and he expects it to if a big bid goes in because Leeds are a selling club.

“I’d have no doubt that, if the fee is right, Leeds would let him go. It’s Leeds. They are not a club that are going to be buying players.
“They haven’t done it in the last few years, anyway. I can’t remember the last time they bought someone. If the offer was good enough, I think they’d let him go.
“I think he’d do well there,” he added. “I wouldn’t say he’s the complete midfield player, but I think he could do a job. He’s a very energetic lad.
“He is not going to dictate play in the midfield. He will win tackles, he can distribute it okay. I think he would be a good player for Manchester United in the position that United are in at the moment.”
Never
This is not the same situation as Alan Smith back in 2004 with a guy who was Leeds through-and-through being tempted by a move away.

The club are not in financial trouble this season and while they are battling relegation, if they are still able to stay in the Premier League then there is no reason for him to leave.
Leeds are willing to make him one of the highest paid players in the club’s history, while they can provide football at a high level for him to play.
Right now they can’t offer European football like some of the clubs that are interested in him can, but they are the club of his life and he loves them dearly.
It would be surprising to see him leave it all behind for a club that he would have been brought up entirely disliking, especially when there are likely to be other offers on the table.
