Leeds United will now look to convince Charles De Ketelaere for major transfer

Leeds United are now ready to go in and convince Club Brugges star Charles De Ketelaere into a move, according to Alexandre Braeckman.

The RTL Sports journalist responded after reports from Belgium suggested that AC Milan were ready to pull the plug and move on to other targets this summer, leaving the door open.

Braeckman shared that the situation is unchanged, but there is a Sunday deadline that could then see Leeds spring into action with talks with De Ketelaere.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Braeckman shared the major update with developments expected before the end of play this evening.

“Situation unchanged,” he wrote.

“If they don’t reach an agreement for sunday evening, it’s over. And then Leeds will go to try to convince the player, as they planned.”

Today.

Sunday is set to be the biggest day of the entire window for Leeds.

If AC Milan do pull the plug as is expected, Victor Orta has to be ready to do everything he can to make sure that De Ketelaere is pulling on that white shirt next season and beyond.

The Belgian wonder will then have a decision to make ahead of the World Cup, stay with Club Brugges, or move to the biggest division in the world, the Premier League.

Not only that, but De Ketelaere would become the main man at Elland Road and that added responsibility would only boost his chances of starting for Belgium, not just making up the squad.

Leeds have the money to pay £34.1million, and they can also meet his personal demands so if that is put on the table in front of him in the next week, that could change everything.

AC Milan may be wanted by the player, but the Whites know they have everything it will take to bring him, and the chances of that happening are now growing by the day.
