Leeds United will not sell Illan Meslier for 'any money' this summer - James Marshment
James Marshment has stated that Leeds United will not sell goalkeeper Illan Meslier for “any money” this summer.
The 22-year-old is one of the hottest young properties in the goalkeeping department and recent reports suggested that there was interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur in signing the player [Phil Hay].
However, the TEAMtalk editor, in a tweet on his account on Thursday, shared that Leeds are not looking to let the player leave this summer.
Leeds arrived in this transfer window knowing that few key players are likely to leave the club and it exactly panned out that way with Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips leaving Elland Road and joining Barcelona and Manchester City, respectively.
However, at no point, the Whites’ management would’ve thought about letting Meslier leave in the ongoing transfer window.
Therefore, with just less than two weeks remaining, there is no way that the club could take a chance of letting a player of quality of Meslier leave and the recent comments of Marshment would be encouraging for the fans.
The 22-year-old has been a Leeds player since the summer of 2020 when he moved from French club FC Lorient in a deal worth £5.85 million.
Since then, Meslier has represented his current club in 90 matches across all competitions where he conceded 142 goals and managed to keep 25 clean sheets in the process [Transfermarkt].
