Leeds United are the worst-suffering Premier League team as Christmas Fixture list announced
Leeds United are the worst-suffering Premier League team over the Christmas period when it comes to their festive fixture list, according to TeamTalk journalist James Marshment.
The Whites are having a torrid time of things at the moment and it seems matters may only get worse as the Premier League announced its festive fixture list.
Marshment highlighted that Leeds United have the worst turnover in recovery time out of the 20 teams in the English top flight over the festive period.
“Leeds United are the worst-suffering team in the Premier League when it comes to their Festive fixture list, having just 167.75 hours of recovery between their games against Man City, Newcastle and West Ham,” said Marshment via his Twitter page.
“Spurs have it best, with 223.5 hours rest separating their games.”
No surprise here.
In a season that seems to be going down the drain, it’s no surprise that Leeds United have been dealt a stinky festive fixture card.
Whether or not Jesse Marsch will be in charge of the jam-packed games is debatable, it seems after Sunday the Leeds fans have turned on him.
The club currently sit in the dreaded Premier League relegation zone and are showing little signs of life under Marsch’s management.
If Marsch was to leave, Leeds would have to get things perfectly right in their replacement or they could be facing their demise head-on.
There is no guarantee that a new manager will be able to come in and change the fortunes of the Whites completely.
Links to Sean Dyche seem desperate, to say the least, and his brand of football is the complete opposite of what Leeds are trying to achieve at Elland Road.
Whatever the case may be, Marsch’s fate will be decided by the time these festive fixtures take place.
In other Leeds United news, Marsch has been told to enter quiet talks with the PGMOL after Jeff Stelling made an accusation.
