Leeds United were ready to go to great lengths to hire Feyenoord manager Arne Slot
Leeds United were reportedly willing to go to “great lengths” in order to appoint Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, but to no avail.
According to De Telegraaf [13 February], the Dutchman was not impressed and decided to stay on in the Netherlands and challenge for the league.
It has been reported that he turned down an offer that would’ve seen him earn £67k per week at Elland Road.

Stopgap until summer?
If Slot is the man Leeds have decided is the right one for them, then they must not give up in their efforts to bring him to the club.
Right now, the board surely will be thinking about relegation and the right man to get them out of the mess that they’re currently in.
Once that is done and the takeover goes through, the new manager will also have a decent amount of funds available to strengthen the squad.
There need to be some changes made in defence and perhaps even in the final third and if Slot is to move to Elland Road, he would want assurances.

Hopefully, the Whites get their interim appointment right and do not panic about giving someone the job just because he’s available.
We’re delighted that they did not go with Alfred Schreduer as it seemed like he was the overwhelming favourite after being seen at Elland Road.
